SLIDING CUTOFF GRINDER

$29

With a few basic parts and some effort, you can transform an angle grinder into a small, sliding cutoff saw for accurately cutting thin metal parts. The key to this project's success are the clever carriage and handle assemblies. These hold the grinder and allow it to slide back and forth, as well as rotate up and down. The assemblies slide along a hardwood rail, which in turn is connected to a sturdy support arm that’s bolted to a rock-solid base. The setup includes a wide metal channel at the center for added safety, and a two-position fence that enhances the versatility of the tool.
