TOWER BOOKCASE

$29

With this beautifully designed bookcase you can see how some small details and the right molding treatments can take an ordinary bookcase and make it look special. The first thing that catches your eye is the two-tone finish. While the top cap and back panel have a cherry finish, the rest of the bookcase is painted. This feature allows inexpensive poplar lumber to be used on the face frame and moldings. The siles on the front of the case have evenly spaced stopped flutes. We'll show you how to make them in the shop with a handheld router and a simple-to-build jig.
